An improvised explosive device

A soldier treads cautiously

His brothers in arms standing by

While he tries to detonate, saving lives.

Success on this day they all do cheer

but tomorrow is another day

This IED war is so unclear

As they tread each step, clearing the way.

A unit of twelve soon becomes ten.

Brothers with their heavy hearts

salute and pray for their fallen men,

With heads bowed as they turn and depart.
