A POEM BY D.G. TORRENS – ETERNITY BOUND

IMAGE OF LOVE IN PINK

If I close my eyes for a single moment

I can see you in the distance

I can smell your natural fragrance

Which dares me to step ever closer.

The world seems to disappear

All noise is faded out

I reach out to touch your face

Our souls forever bind.

No ordinary love that withers and dies

For ours is eternity bound

Our souls destined to journey

Forever until the end of time.

If I close my eyes for a single moment

My dream becomes my reality

I can see you, touch you and hold your hand

For our love is eternity bound.

A POEM: BY D.G. TORRENS –  A YEARNING HEART

A heart  aches for your loves embrace,

A heart that yearns to be close to yours.

A future without you I cannot face,

This maybe something I am forced to endure.

Follow the road that leads you to me,

Ignore the crossroads that capture your eye.

Keep walking straight until it’s me you see,

Let this be our beginning not our goodbye.

Love can always find a way,

When two souls are destined to be.

Nothing is impossible not now, not today,

You need to close your eyes to really see.

My heart is aching for your love’s embrace,

My heart that yearns to be close to yours.

A future without you I cannot face,

Don’t let this be something I am forced to endure.

A POEM: BY D.G. TORRENS – IS THIS REAL?

Thoughts of you are clouding my tormented mind,

I want to taste your loves embrace.

Though my courage within is hard to find,

I fear the hurt I may have to face.

~

Show me a heart that I can trust,

One that will love  one that will care.

Don’y steal my heart if this is lust,

For me this is real, my heart is to share.

~

My heart is for life and not for rent,

Rare and precious and easily breaks.

Hold it close as it was meant,

Prove to me we are not a mistake.

A POEM BY D.G.TORRENS – WE ALL NEED LOVE

What is life if deprived of love?

Cold and lonely I dare not think of.

For our souls need to be nurtured,

Cared for, loved and not be averted.

Without love our hearts shall wither,

This to me I cannot consider.

For I need the warmth that love provides,

By the ones that stand firm by my side.

Open your heart and don’t be afraid,

We need this love that’s how we’re made.

To shut it out and live in the cold,

Will surely hurt, I have been told.

 ~

Your heart and your head use together,

They will work so well now and forever.

So open your heart and don’t be afraid,

We need this love, that’s how we’re made.

A POEM BY D.G. TORRENS – MOTHERS IN TURMOIL

Mother’s in turmoil for their vulnerable sons,

Armchair observers their hearts in their hands.

Their children at war with loaded guns,

Out of reach in far away lands.

The child they once held in loving embrace,

Now a soldier preparing for war.

Marching with comrades, fear upon their face,

To fight a battle they all deplore.

 ~

A mother’s anguish for their safe return,

Their imminent fate in Gods hands is true.

From war there is so much we can learn,

Death is the winner, not us, not you.

 ~

Mother’s mourn as their child is returned,

Their worst fears realized now they see.

Their anguish, longing and continuous yearning,

Replaced by death, did this have to be?

 ~

Lives changed forever take a different course,

Mother’s should not live longer than their sons.

However common within the force,

How they wish peace could replace the guns.

A POEM BY D.G. TORRENS: A MOTHER’S LOVE

I held you for a little while,

Before you started crawling.

I guided you for a little while,

Until you started walking.

School now beckons you,

And it’s nearing too fast.

I wish the world would slow down,

Before the precious years have passed.

A mother’s heart is always aching,

A mother’s heart is always longing.

A mother’s heart is over flowing,

A mother’s heart is very forgiving.

I will never forget those tiny fingers,

And your beautiful beaming smile.

For it was not so long ago,

In my arms you were for just awhile.

A POEM BY D.G. TORRENS: AGEING

Ageing will follow us it cannot be stopped,

But our attitudes towards this can be dropped.

It’s just a number we should all be proud,

We have made it this far so shout it out loud.

~

Don’t be afraid and please don’t fear,

There will always be those who look on and sneer.

These ones my friend are not worth your time,

Age will catch up with them one day they’ll find.

~

Think of the children you’ve loved and raised,

One day they’ll thank you your life will be praised.

The knowledge you’ve passed down over the years,

Is now their guide to overcome fears.

~

So look in the mirror and smile wide,

Don’t be afraid and sit inside.

Your life is not over there is much to do,

So grab those reins and think of you.

A POEM BY D.G. TORRENS: DARE TO CHANGE

Close your eyes and open your mind,

Don’t be afraid of what lies behind.

Allow your thoughts to wander and explore,

Trust me now, as you have done before.

_

To feel the freedom you crave so badly,

You need to sacrifice a thing or two sadly.

So take your first step and don’t look back,

Just keep moving forward and follow your track.

_

It takes a brave person to walk alone,

So many like this I have known.

They remain in my heart and inspire me always

With thoughts of them often making my days.

_

Dare to change and dare to reach,

Listen not to the negative that so often preach.

For they are not living they are sad inside,

They will not follow and remain by your side.

_

For this is your life you have only one,

Don’t let it be guided by a loaded gun.

Choose your own path and dare to walk tall,

Like a few brave ones before you who now have it all…

_

A POEM BY D.G. TORRENS: MAGIC IS ALL AROUND US

I stumbled upon a magic woodland,

I rubbed my eyes and blinked three times

But still it remained effervescent and grand

With beams of light from the bright sunshine.

~

I was filled with wonder like that of a child,

as I walked further and in complete awe

I felt a fresh breeze so gentle and mild

This memory I’d cherish for ever more.

~

We often forget the beauty around us,

The adventure that’s a few steps away

Open those eyes and your instincts do trust

For this opportunity may bypass you another day.

~

There is magic around us everywhere,

If we open our eyes and look beyond

Take those steps to seek yours out

Don’t be afraid and leave it too long.

_

A POEM BY D.G. TORRENS: BE KIND

Clear away your negative mind

Emmerse yourself in postivity

It’s not so hard and easy to find

It may seem tough but you’d be wrong

Just look around and extend your hand

A loved one is near to help you along.

_

Sometimes we need to open our eyes

And pay attention to what really matters

Some may smile and some may sigh

But that my friend is not your worry

Stick to your path and carry on walking

Never fear and never be sorry.

_

Always be kind and never be cruel

Pay it forward when ever you can

As being kind will always rule

Don’t be swayed to cause people pain

Use your energy to lift their spirit

And everyone will be sure to gain.

A POEM BY D.G. TORRENS: FORBIDDEN LOVE

I close my eyes to see you clearly,

Our hearts entwined for ever more.

My heart is heavy and full of love,

let’s forget the world and close the door.

_

This our moment won’t last forever,

We need to embrace it before it’s too late.

So take my hand and hold me tight,

Let’s forget the world for just one night.

_

My love is real my love is strong,

My love is waiting so patiently.

So take my hand and hold me tight,

Let’s forget the world for just one night.

_

Follow your heart it will lead you to me

Don’t be afraid and turn away.

So take my hand and hold me tight,

Let’s forget the world for just one night..

A POEM BY D.G. TORRENS: MISSING YOU

I wait and wait for the longest time, I call out for you,

Where are you, Please find me, don’t leave me here.

I miss you, I need you, can you hear my call,

I wait and wait for the longest time.

I wait and wait for the longest time, I call out for you,

I am shrouded in darkness alone and scared, where are you.

My life has frozen now, all around me is still,

I wait and wait for the longest time.

I wait and wait for the longest time, I call out for you,

My heart is hurting, my heart is crying, where are you.

My life is cold without you, I miss you so much.

I wait and wait for the longest time.

I wait and wait for the longest time, I call out for you,

I wish I could touch you for one last time.

Living without you is just an existence, I miss you,

I wait and wait for the longest time.

A POEM BY D.G. TORRENS: SORROW

Can you see sorrow in my eyes,

My inner pain is showing through.

I try so hard to silence my cries,

Until I’m flooded with memories of you.

Can you see sorrow in my eyes,

Grief has over-whelmed me once more.

I’m sorry, so very sorry, they were never lies,

I know ‘its too late now as I walk towards the closed door.

Can you see sorrow in my eyes,

after the event is always too late.

Can you see sorrow in my eyes,

Please please wait for me at God’s eternal gates.

A POEM BY D.G. TORRENS: LONGING

My thoughts drift towards you, my heart is beating so fast that I can hardly breath. Oh how I wish I could touch you, hold you, see your beautiful smile. How I wish I could hear you breathing while you are sleeping next to me.

My thoughts drift towards you, my heart is beating so fast, I close my eyes for a brief moment and I can almost feel your warm gentle hand cupping my face. I can feel your heart beating close to mine, our hearts are almost one!

My thoughts drift towards you, my heart is beating so fast that I can hardly breath. I miss you, I miss you so very much. I see your face, I picture your smile, I close my eyes once again and imagine I am with you just for one single moment in time, one special moment in time that belongs to just the two of us and no-one else.

My thoughts drift towards you, my heart is beating so fast, it aches for you. I can feel the pain of longing running through each and every vein in my body. Just once I wish I could touch you, just once I wish I could see you, just once I wish I could hold you.

When I think of love I think of you…

A POEM BY D.G. TORRENS: LONELINESS

Loneliness is a hurting feeling I wish I could explain,

It comes at you from nowhere and gives you so much pain.

I extend my hand and reach for you, then look into your eyes,

You turn and walk away from me, your love has surely died.

I place my hand upon my heart, as tears fall down my face,

you don’t look back, you don’t slow down, instead you quicken your pace.

True love cares, true love waits, true love does not walk away,

I silently plead with all my heart, just turnaround and make my day.

You don’t look back, not even once, you  disappear from my sight,

Now there is nothing just my pain, holding me close, holding me tight.

Loneliness is a hurting feeling I wish I could explain,

It comes at you from nowhere and gives you so much pain.

A POEM BY D.G. TORRENS: INNER TORMENT

They don’t see me, not the real me,

My tears are invisible, my pain hidden.

I’m reaching out, my heart extending,

They don’t see me, not the real me.

A tear appears, my tear-duct now full,

It’s more than a tear, I’m drowning.

Can anyone see me, and feel my pain,

They don’t see me, not the real me.

What’s the point of wings, if you cannot fly,

My heart is heavy, my heart is crying now.

I want to be heard, but I trip over deaf ears,

They don’t see me, not the real me.

If I have a guardian angel, please come to me now,

wipe the tear from my face,

and lift the pain in my heart.

Make them hear, and make them see,

As no-one sees me, not the real me.

A POEM BY D.G. TORRENS: A WINTERS DAY IN ENGLAND

At first I see a single flake falling slowly to the ground,

I watch in awe as it falls making not a single  sound.

The heavens open  wide and fast,

lighting  trees and  the sky avast.

I stand frozen and let it fall,

Upon my head and body all.

I look a head to the falling snow,

Smiling now because I know,

Little England will but stand still,

For just a moment our land tranquill.

A POEM BY D.G. TORRENS: MY PRINCESS

To my princess:

A special gift was sent to me,

three years ago on new years eve.

My heart is filled with so much love,

for you my princess sent from above.

You complete my life in every way,

I shall cherish you each and every day.

I promise never to let you down,

as my feet are firmly on the ground.

Just know I love you with all my heart,

My feelings for you will never depart.

A POEM BY D.G. TORRENS: MY DESTINY

When my destiny is in my hands

I promise to appreciate all of my life

When my destiny is in my hands

I promise I will never cause any strife.

When my destiny is in my hands

I promise to love and appreciate my friends

When my destiny is in my hands

I promise to be true until the end.

When destiny is finally in my hands – the first thing for me is to travel the lands.

A POEM BY D.G. TORRENS: AM I DREAMING?

The light is too bright, yet I am drawn it’s way

My feet are moving without my assistance ever forward

My heart is racing, my adrenilin pumping

Am I dreaming, am I alive, my body is floating toward a light.

~

The light is too bright, yet I am drawn it’s way

I place my hand upon my heart and feel every beat

I see nothing but brightness pulling me forward

Am I dreaming, am I alive, my body is floating toward a light.

~

The light is too bright, yet I am drawn it’s way

I am too scared to look back and see nothingness

I remember now twas a fall then I was shrouded in darkness

Am I dreaming, am I alive, my body is floating toward a light.

~

The light is too bright, yet I am drawn it’s way

I finally look back, there was nothing but empty space

I place my hand upon my heart, no beats just silence

I am not dreaming, I am not alive, I am floating towards the light.
